Vintage Poster Restoration
First, we build a custom wooden box for the poster. Then, we stretch the canvas and apply homemade wheat paste on it. Next, we use acid-free paper, also coated with wheat paste, and roll it out to remove any air bubbles. After that, we carefully position the poster on the canvas, using rollers to flatten it and remove any creases or bubbles.
Once the poster is dry, we fill in any missing corners with vintage papers or our own acid-free paper paste to cover up any holes or rips. After filling in the poster, we start the retouching process using watercolor-based pencils or gouache.
